LEARNING TO LIVE IN THE MOMENT
Newsflash: I don’t have it all figured out, but I’m ready to live my best life.
Went to college. Check. Got a decent job. Check. Got a better job. Check. Went back to school. Check. Now what? After graduation, the most asked question was, “So what are you going to do with your degree?” Although I had the diplomatic response ready, If I’m honest, I’m not sure.
There is a lot of pressure that comes from feeling the need to have it all figured out. When I look at my life, there is so much that I want to do, and if I’m honest, I do not know how I’ll get there. There was also a time when I didn’t know what I wanted. I didn’t know what my purpose was, and though I remained in prayer about it, I was extremely frustrated with not knowing the play-by-play for my life.
Sound familiar? Don’t worry! If you keep moving, things will slowly become more evident, and the pieces will move into place.
We tend to forget this, but your life is NOW. Too often, we spend our time in the past and in the future, and we neglect life in the present moment. Now, looking back to our history to learn from mistakes and looking to the future to plan and prepare is completely recommended, but don’t stay there. Live in the moment.

Live Today
I’ve struggled with living freely in the moment, but let’s stop waiting for ‘tomorrow’ to be happy. “When I get the dream job, I will…” “When I lose 20 pounds, I will finally…” Girl, do it today. Learn to love who you are in this moment and move forward with the things that scare you. Start with messy action.
Don’t Discredit The Mistakes
You will go in the ‘wrong’ direction sometimes. You’ll even struggle, feel lost, and fail. Don’t discredit that! In addition to the countless lessons you’ll learn, it will also bring you closer to who you are and what you are meant to do.
Trust The Process
I believe in Romans 8:28, which says, “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” Your life is a succession of experiences, and each of those experiences work together to form who you are. As you keep moving, trust that God created you specifically for a plan and purpose, and at the right time, it will be revealed. With every new experience, you grow closer to your answers. Stop stressing and putting unnecessary pressure on yourself. You are not forgotten.
It’s ok not to have it all figured out. Walk in faith and live your BEST LIFE in the moment.
